  1. The Neighborhood United Community center location sponsored by We Are Oregon closed January 2013. Community members from the original food group are providing community space and food resource information at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church located at 174th and NE Glisan, Bus route 25. We Are Rockwood is a community justice volunteer led group coming together for a stronger Rockwood community starting with healthier foods.
We are residents here in Rockwood. We live near the MAX stations and walk around the areas. Our experiences and conversations with community members are paving the way to sharing opportunities for all to eat!

    1. I think it is important to note that several people worked side by side for food justice at the Neighborhoods United/Vecinos Unidos site for over a year and a half. Some of us from the Rockwood Community Food Justice organization are now starting something new and all inclusive with a Rockwood resident voice, We Are Rockwood. If we are to use the words "community", "united", "justice", neighbors", I do not understand why deny We Are Rockwood people were also a part of this movement and continue.
We are residents here. We walk the streets here. We represent those who have no cars, no money, no access. Rockwood needs all the support we can muster.
I hope that the coordinators of this blog could please verify information too as some of you are church connected.
So, if you "LIVE" in Rockwood, and want to make connections with people about food, crocheting, crafts, recreation..., please connect with neighbors We Are Rockwood. 503-431-0653 Community line for information.
